Top 5 Social Networking Apps on iOS in Ukraine - Q4 2023

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the social networking app landscape in Ukraine on the iOS platform showcased some interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five applications—Telegram Messenger, Rakuten Viber Messenger, Skype, Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out, and Threema. The Secure Messenger—performed notably in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Telegram Messenger saw a fluctuating revenue trend, peaking at approximately $85K in the final week of December. Downloads showed significant activity, reaching around 66K in the same period. However, weekly active users exhibited a slight decline from about 4.2M to 4.1M throughout the quarter.

Rakuten Viber Messenger experienced steady revenue growth, with peaks around $5.6K in mid-December. Downloads were robust, particularly in late December, hitting about 37K. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, though there was a slight decrease from approximately 2.3M to 2.2M.

For Skype, revenue remained consistent, averaging around $3.5K weekly, with a peak of $3.8K in mid-December. Download numbers hovered around 2.5K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw a decline from about 107K to 89K.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out had a relatively stable revenue, peaking at $2.8K in mid-December. Downloads showed a steady increase, reaching approximately 8.2K in the last week of December. Weekly active users consistently rose, peaking at around 476K.

Lastly, Threema. The Secure Messenger saw a peak revenue of approximately $3K in mid-November. Downloads remained low but stable, averaging around 130 weekly. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter around 2.5K.
